By studying the Diploma of Beauty and Spa Practice at Torrens, you will have the option upon completion, to upgrade your qualifications to a bachelor’s degree. The Bachelor of Health Science (Aesthetics) is a new and innovative course that delivers high-quality training and provides a strong foundation in health science, coupled with a holistic approach to the advanced area of aesthetics and dermal therapies.

Qualification Title

DIPLOMA OF BEAUTY & SPA PRACTICE

Study Options – Domestic Australian students

Study full time or part time online.

Brisbane or Sydney (Pyrmont) campus or online (with some campus attendance).

Study options – International students

This course is available to students who require a visa to study onshore in Australia.

Course Length

Full-time: 3 trimesters (1 Year).
Part-time: Options available

Entry Requirements

Year 12 or equivalent

Additional academic requirements for international students:

Equivalent IELTS 5.5 (Academic) with no skills band less than 5.5

Special Entry Requirements:

Demonstrated ability to undertake study at the required level:

  • Broadly relevant work experience (documented e.g. CV), demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success; OR
  • formal, informal or non-formal study, completed or partially completed, demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success; OR
  • written submission to demonstrate reasonable prospect of success.

Payment Options - Domestic Australian students

Upfront payment

This means tuition fees will be invoiced each trimester and payment is required on or before the due date.

FEE-HELP

FEE-HELP is Australian Government’s loan scheme for higher education degree courses.

It can assist you in paying for all, or part of, your course fees. Repayments commence via the tax system once your income rises above a minimum threshold ($54,869 in 2016-17). Just like with any other debt, a FEE-HELP debt is a real debt that impacts your credit rating.

Payment Options - International students

Upfront payment

This means tuition fees will be invoiced each trimester and payment is required on or before the due date.

Course study requirements

It is expected that each 10 credit point subject will involve approximately 36 hours of directed study and approximately 84 hours of self-directed study.

Assessment

Assessments vary and may include: Practical assessment, participation in clinics, industry placement reports, case studies, in-class debates, online tests and quizzes, participation in online discussion forums and research projects.
