Become a Qualified Beauty Therapist

This course equips you with the knowledge and skills to enter the exciting world of beauty therapy. You will become competent in a range of beauty therapy treatments and services, including facials and facial massage, lash and brow treatments, day/evening & remedial make-up, waxing, body massage ; as well as providing advice on and selling retail skin care and cosmetic products. You'll explore anatomy and physiology, histology of skin and nutrition, and apply what you have learnt through clinical practice in the Student Clinic at the college.

Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirements for the course are:

• Direct entry
  (Note that students who are under the age of 18 at course commencement may require an interview with ANCB to assess their suitability for the course.)

Additional requirements:

• Overseas students require an overall IELTS score of 5.5 (academic) or above, or equivalent test score.


• Distance Education students will be required to attend on-campus workshops for final assessment purposes. The student must be available to travel to Sydney or Brisbane during these periods. A detailed timetable for the onsite study periods will be provided.


• Distance Education students are required to be over 18 at the time of commencement.

Articulation

Students successfully completing the Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy can choose to continue to study a higher qualification by enrolling into the SIB50110 Diploma of Beauty Therapy at ANCB.


Industry Recognition

This course has been designed to meet industry recognition by the Association of Professional Aestheticians of Australia (APAA). The APAA is the oldest and most active Association in the Beauty Industry in Australia.
